Home Place Pastures is seeking a Sanitation Lead to oversee sanitation operations in our USDA inspected slaughter and processing facility. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 12pm to 9pm with an hour break between 4 and 5 pm. Position will include the following responsibilities: 

  • Basic janitorial duties for non-production areas
  • Putting away supplies
  • Sweeping
  • Mopping 
  • Carrying out trash and boxes
  • Basic janitorial duties for restrooms
  • Cleaning sinks and toilets
  • Cleaning floors and door handles
  • Cleaning coolers
  • Coordinating with production team to empty coolers of carcasses before sanitation begins
  • Rinse, foam degreaser, scrub, rise, squeegee, and sanitize coolers
  • Clean production rooms
  • Following production team’s post shift clean up, follow HPP cleaning procedures and SSOP to fully clean and sanitize production areas, including the kill floor, processing cooler, primary processing room, and further processing room.
  • Rinse, foam degreaser, scrub, rise, squeegee, and sanitize coolers
  • Make sure all cutting boards, equipment and food contact surfaces are fully sanitized following the steps above
  • Sanitation records
  • Log cleaning chemical mixing appropriately 
  • Follow HPP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for each part of our sanitation process
  • Corrective actions
  • If sanitation issues are discovered during pre-op or operation, be willing to work with production team to improve sanitation practices and create a cleaner work environment
  • Lead and supervise any sanitation employees that are working to assist with plant sanitation
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and submit order requests to Office Manager when supplies are needed
  • Assist in other departments when needed, including packaging meat and building boxes

Hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 12pm to 9pm with 1 hour break from 4pm to 5pm

Compensation:

$18.00/hr


*If an employee elects to join the company health care plan, HPP pays 20 percent of monthly cost. This percentage increases based on performance and time worked. The employee is responsible for the remaining balance.
