Home Place Pastures is a 5th-generation family farm transitioning from row cropping to a vertically-integrated, sustainable, pastured meat operation. Home Place produces Certified Humane, heritage breed pork, grass-fed beef and lamb in outdoor production systems without the use of antibiotics. Our farming practices focus on animal welfare and the health ofour soils. We operate a USDA-inspected slaughter and processing facility and a retail butcher shop on the farm. We service roughly 50 restaurants and retail accounts each week, from Nashville to New Orleans, with our fresh product. Additionally, we operate a growing meat subscription program, which ships out each month via UPS. Home Place Pastures is seeking a Sanitation and Packaging associate to assist with packaging, labeling, and sanitation operations in our USDA inspected slaughter and processing facility.

SCHEDULE

• Monday through Friday, 12pm to 9pm with an hour break between 4 and 5 pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-Basic janitorial duties for non-production areas

• Putting away supplies
• Sweeping
• Mopping
• Carrying out trash and boxes

-Basic janitorial duties for restrooms

• Cleaning sinks and toilets
• Cleaning floors and door handles

-Cleaning coolers

• Coordinating with production team to empty coolers of carcasses before sanitation begins
• Rinse, foam degreaser, scrub, rise, squeegee, and sanitize coolers

-Clean production rooms

• Following production team’s post shift clean up, follow HPP cleaning procedures and SSOP to fully clean and sanitize production areas, including the kill floor, processing cooler, primary processing room, and further processing room.
• Rinse, foam degreaser, scrub, rise, squeegee, and sanitize coolers
• Make sure all cutting boards, equipment and food contact surfaces are fully sanitized following the steps above

-Sanitation records

• Follow HPP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for each part of our sanitation process

-Corrective actions

-Assist the Sanitation Lead with any responsibilities delegated

-Assist in other departments when needed, including packaging meat and building boxes

COMPENSATION

$16 to 18.00/hr

All HPP job offers are conditional for 90 days. Anytime during that 90 day period, HPP may elect to terminate the employee for any reason. After 90 days, HPP management will have a performance review meeting with the staff member, at which time HPP will offer the official position, place the staff member on a 30 day performance improvement plan, or terminate the employee. Attendance and punctuality are critical performance metrics.

*If employee elects to join company health care plan, HPP pays 20 percent of monthly cost. This percentage increases based on performance and time worked. Employee is responsible for the remaining balance.
