Birth
Our calves are born from February through March so that nutrient rich spring forages keep our cows fat and healthy at the time of year their bodies need energy and protein the most.
Grazing
We manage annual and perennial forages for our herd, and do not use antibiotics, animal parts, hormones, or grain based supplements in our cattle program.
Slaughter
We’ve based our slaughter system off of Dr. Temple Grandin’s help and research on the topic. Everything from the curve of our shoot to the texture of our concrete has been assessed to assure the process is as humane as possible.
We raise cattle from start to finish. Rotating a growing group of momma cows on pastures using a combination of permanent paddocks and poly wire fencing. We also manage annual and perennial forages for our Cow/ calf herd, and do not use antibiotics, animal parts, hormones, or grain based supplements in our cattle program. We finish our calves on intensively managed seasonal forages and controlled grazing. Manipulating the interplay between these ruminants and the land is central to taking our row crop acres out of input intensive, mono-crop farming practices and into a regenerative, soil enhancing production model. Luckily, the result of this laborious and challenging process is top quality 100 percent grass fed beef!
