Job Description

 

Home Place Pastures is a 5th generation farm in Como, MS providing top quality grass fed beef and pastured pork to the southeast region. In addition to operating a working farm, HPP also owns and operates a USDA inspected slaughter and processing facility, and a butcher shop and restaurant on site.

 

Description:

HPP is seeking a full-time Office Manager. Position is available currently and will be filled as soon as an applicant is chosen for the position.

 

Hours:

Monday through Friday, ~9am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break: ~35 hours per week. 

 

Pay:

Salary. Based on experience.

 

Responsibilities:

- Accounts payable

o Organize and pay bills

o Enter checks and match expenses to bank feeds in QuickBooks

o Properly allocate expenses to company expense categories

o Create and implement purchase order system with department managers

 

- Accounts receivable 

o Enter customer checks into QuickBooks and make bank deposits

o Work with sales team to track down delinquent payments

o Professional communication with customers to work out payment discrepancies

o Run weekly ACH to draft customers bank accounts for invoices

o Make store bank drops and pick up change. Make sure drops match POS reports

 

- Human Resources

o Enter and track time in ADP payroll system

o Keep track of vacation, sick time and issue regular updates on remaining time

o Be a resource for other company benefits (health insurance, 401k, etc)

o File and organize attendance and incident reports

o Safety and employee trainings and updates

o Onboard new employees

o Help staff with printing pay stubs or any payroll questions

o Help design, implement, and track employee policies (incentive programs, attendance policies, etc)

o Navigate employment security, child support payments, garnishments etc.

 

- Office Assistance

o Help run errands (per diem compensation for personal vehicle use)

o General administrative tasks (filing, organizing, vehicle tags, compliance assistance, scanning, mailing documents, etc)

o Help organization department head meetings, schedules, travel plans

o Record meeting notes

o Answer and direct phone calls

 

Experience:

 

Experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred. Office/ accounting/ administrative experience is required. Applicants need to be detail oriented and organized. This position will involve maintaining current organizational systems and creating new policies and systems to enhance organization and access to information.

We operate a farm, processing facility, and on-farm butcher shop and restaurant.
